The sales of cars in Pakistan have been booming in May 2022, despite recent price increases. Honda Civic Breaks into Top Five Most Popular Cars to Sell in May 2022.
Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) along with Honda Atlas Cars Limited (HACL) have both seen an increase in sales, while Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has seen a slight decline in the month of June. Hyundai Nishat Motor Private Limited (HNMPL) has seen substantial growth in sales, however, it was not enough to make it onto the top five most-seller vehicles in a month.
And speaking of which here are five Most Popular Cars in May 2022:
A huge winner by a wide amount, Suzuki Alto continues to be the top-selling vehicle in Pakistan. As of the month May 20, 2022 PSMC has sold 5461 of the Alto which makes it the most popular car sold across Pakistan for the fifth consecutive month in the current year.
Suzuki Alto’s high sales are in part due to its popularity in the ride-hailing industry as well as students, young professionals, and families with a low household income. Its lower cost and the best fuel efficiency are its primary selling features.
Toyota Corolla continues to maintain its “best-selling car title in Pakistan and has surpassed all other sedans for 5th time in 2022. Toyota IMC sold 2,429 units of the Corolla in the month of May 2022, which makes it the second-highest-seller automobile of the month in general.
The Corolla’s impressive sales result from a range of pricing and options within its range. With its cost, Corolla competes with the top of the line Honda City and Hyundai Eltra, as well in its own class of sedans. These include Honda Civic and Hyundai Elantra.
Wagon R has climbed up in the most recent top-five sellers list. In the last month, PSMC sold 2,258 units of Wagon R which puts it in the third spot among the top-selling vehicles in Pakistan and makes it a consistent top performer.
The MPV is popular for ride-hailing companies and services because of its dependability, ease of maintenance with a relatively low price and its high efficiency in fuel. The bulk sales it receives help keep it on the top five list every month.
#4: Honda Civic
Honda Civic’s popularity in Pakistan is still strong as evidenced by its rapid climb to the top of the top five cars that are selling in Pakistan. In the month of March, HACL sold an impressive 2,219 units of Civic which accounted for an 85 percent rise in sales over the month (MoM).
Despite a Rs. 5-6 million cost, HACL has sold more units of the Civic than the far cheaper City, Toyota Yaris, and Suzuki Swift all of which cost at minimum 2 million less. 2 million less. That’s an amazing achievement for HACL.
In the market, demand in Toyota Yaris has slowed significantly over the past few months. This is because of the introduction of the new Suzuki Swift, Honda City, and Changan Alsvin on the market.
Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) sold 1,834 units of Yaris in the month of March which enabled it to make it into the top five sellers of this month in the list. This month, at least, Yaris has claimed a victory over Suzuki Swift and Honda City. (Most Popular Cars)
The sales of vehicles have begun to show signs of wear because of the recent turmoil in the economy of Pakistan. While Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC), Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) as well as Honda Atlas Cars Limited (HACL) have seen a slight increase in sales in the last month but the overall trend is expected to decline.
The reason behind this isn’t only the low demand, but the struggle of automakers to keep operating at their full capacity despite the current economic crisis. In the past few months, we have seen many bookings being canceled because of the economic crisis.
It is unclear what the future holds for Pakistan’s automobile sector is in doubt as the issue gets worse.
